Praxis and Engicon took part in the achievements ceremony for the “Improving Living Conditions in disadvantaged areas in Amman” ILCA project. The two-day event aimed to celebrate the outcomes of ILCA project under the patronage of H.E the Minister of Environment Dr. Muawieh Radaideh and H.E Dr. Yousef Al Shawarbeh the Mayor of Amman.

Tareq Ghannam, Praxis’s Principal Architect, took the stage to demonstrate Praxis and Engicon’s substantial achievements within the scope of ILCA project, which involved:

  • Implementing 3 pilot green infrastructure projects including design and construction supervision for 3 sites in East Amman using a participatory design approach.
  • Design for 3 additional extension sites in East Amman.
  • Commissioning local artists to engage community members within the sites through participatory painting activities.
  • Holding several capacity-building workshops with GAM employees and offering on-the-job training. The topic included the implementation of urban green infrastructure and the adoption of participatory design approaches.
  • Producing 4 publications to highlight the environmental and social benefits of urban green infrastructure as well as a step-by-step implementation strategy.

The project was implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and commissioned by Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
