To facilitate rural transportation, Jordan’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing periodically reviews and upgrades the roads connecting villages to the main inter-country highway network.

In 2015, the Ministry awarded Engicon the detailed engineering design works for evaluating and upgrading the roads connecting the northern villages of Shaba, Um Aljadael, Hoor, Foara and Isa’ra to the main Irbid-Ajloun highway.

The project included road design works, pavement evaluation, a topographic survey, geotechnical investigation and hydrological studies, as well as an archaeological study. Included in the design works were intersections, culverts.

Engicon also prepared the environmental impact assessment report and coordinated with the Ministry of Environment and the Department of Antiquities for the project’s approvals.
