The length of the road network in Qatar had tripled between 2013 and 2018, when compared to pre 2013. Rainwater drainage also grew by seven times and pedestrian trails increased 12 times for the same period.

In 2018, Italconsult, an engineering consultant appointed by Qatar’s public works authority ‘Ashghal’, awarded Engicon the subcontract for designing wet utilities and infrastructure for the roads of zone 55.

The project, classified as category-B, is part of Ashghal’s long range development plan (LRDP), for Doha’s western suburbs Bu Sidra and Fereej Al Manaseer.

The project covers 38.0 kilometers of roads in an area of 3.15 km². The different roads include local access streets, minor collector roads and major collector roads, along with a few alleyways (Sikkak).

Engicon, with established offices in Qatar, carried out the detailed designs for the foul sewer network; foul water, stormwater and groundwater drainage systems, and the treated sewage effluent (TSE) network.
