We are thrilled that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has named the Al-Ghabawi Wastewater Treatment Plan (WWTP) project as its Bronze Sustainability Award winner for Climate Resilience.
The project aims to transfer the tanker discharge facility from the current location in Ain Ghazal, Jordan to a new site (Al-Ghabawi) as the septic tank facility is located in a residential area. The current facility creates odor, local noise pollution and increased traffic problems. Furthermore, its outflows do not meet the quality standards required to be passed forward to As-Samra WWTP.
Engicon, in cooperation with Ankura, a leading business advisory firm, has carried out the feasibility study for the project. The study included an assessment of the technical, operational, Environmental, social, and financial aspects of the project. Engicon and Ankura also prepared the technical and functional specifications for the tender documents.
