Implementing world-class guidelines for green buildings costs more, but the upgrade also offers tenants long term savings and a higher future asset value. Jordan Ahli Bank decided to invest in revamping its aging headquarters (HQ) as well as achieve the Gold LEED Certification for green buildings.
As the local architect of record, assigned by UK-based Mixity, Engicon in 2018, started working on the HQ architectural design support works; acted as the LEED Certification consultant, and provided detailed designs for structural, MEP, fire and life safety systems.
Before the remodeled bank HQ complex, the site cluster consisted of three buildings; one was originally designed as a retail building and the other two were home to the bank’s HQ and its private banking branch.
The revamped spaces transformed the retail building into multi-use office spaces with offices, board and executive hubs, meeting rooms, banking branch, dining hall, parking areas, auditorium and an upper roof garden. The other two buildings were remodeled into administrative buildings and housed all the financial institutions owned and managed by the bank.
